Default 2 separate GW accounts on one IP

I was thinking of getting GW prophecies & EotN for my son but I read somewhere on here I'll get banned if they are on the same IP address.

Is that true? I have a static IP.

I know how the happy banstick likes to run riot willy nilly.
Thanks.

I only ever heard that you can get problems on guru with 2 accounts on same IP address, since it would look like an alt-account to push your bids on the sell-section or to circumvent mini-bans.

But I highly doubt you can get banned on gw for that. There are quite a few people who run 2 accounts on the same computer.

Been running two accounts from the same computer for years with no problem. Cannot have the one account logged in twice, the first one logged in will get booted. Have had both accounts logged in at the same time but never on the same computer.

I am pretty sure that GW is geared to the email login than the IP.

At my house we often run three accounts at the same time (on different computers) - mine, my son's and my grandson's. It's how we play together.

No problem with that mate. Personally I use gwx2 to run 2 accounts on the same pc at the same time.

Know loads of ppl that use routers and have multiple pcs running gws at the same time.

Enjoy playing with ur son

I am running 2 accounts right now. Each on it's own comp (both are farming for that damn bear). I have also run multiple accounts on the same comp at the same time. As long as they are unique accounts, Anet doesn't care how many you run from wherever you are.

I do the exact same thing. 2 accounts at the same time, on the same PC. You should have no issues at all.

You won't get banned for running 2(or more) accounts from the same IP. But if one of them gets into any trouble(say if you get caught buying gold) the other accounts sharing your IP address may come under scrutiny.

My house has 3 players with 3 separate accounts all sharing the same IP address. We've been playing over 2 years with no problems. Now, if someone from your IP address is banned for breaking EULA it is possible that all of the accounts will be banned, but that is not always the case. As long as you can count on good behavior from your son there is no reason not to buy him his own account.

IP banning is normally only for known botting operations as far as I know.
I doubt that one bot would result in the IP being banned, I believe it would take multiple incidents of botting for an IP ban to be issued.

So the short answer is, no, you should be fine.
